Vijaya Rao and the Nateschwara Dancers honor the legendary teacher, choreographer and composer Guru Shri Pathagudi S. Ramaswamy on the occasion of his ninetieth birthday with ‘Om Namah Shivaya’, one of his most important choreographies.
‘Om Namah Shivaya’ is an ode to Shiva, master of the dance and master of yoga. In the dance performance episodes are told from the life and work of Shiva.

Shri Pathagudi S. Ramawamy was a master of the ‘old guard’. He was not only a great teacher, but also an outstanding choreographer, composer, and singer (dance accompanist). ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ is a dance program based on the style of this great master. His compositions and wonderful arrangements make the whole thing appear like a dance theater and give space for virtuosic dance performances and expressive dance drama.
